Move beyond surface level interventions.
Build deeper therapeutic relationships.
Starting another session feeling like you have no idea what else to do.
Wondering if you should just refer teens to someone else...
All of the plug and play worksheets have helped a little,
but you are still wondering why your teen clients shut down,
intellectualize, argue, or leave you feeling like you're missing something important.
None of those tools tell you what to do next and you're exhausted.
You didn't become a therapist to perform.
You became a therapist to understand people, build relationships, and help them heal.
You're thinking,
You're Not Alone!
I'm a therapist who has been in your shoes....

INTRODUCING
with EMILY YI, LCSW, therapist, qualified supervisor and advocate for gifted and talented
I have built a thriving private practice specializing in gifted, neurodivergent, and emotionally intense children and teens. I have worked with hundreds of families, developed a waitlist for my services, and become the therapist that schools, pediatricians, and other clinicians trust to refer their most complex cases.
Before creating this approach, I was the therapist staying up late worrying, researching interventions, creating the perfect session plan, and wondering why my most intelligent, insightful clients were still stuck.
This isn't something I figured out years ago and stopped doing.
I continue to sit with gifted, anxious, perfectionistic, and deeply feeling teens every single week. Last month, I helped clients navigate perfectionism, self harm, suicidal thoughts, school avoidance, emotional shutdown, family conflict, anxiety, identity struggles, and the exhaustion of trying to hold it all together.
...is that I have spent years working at the intersection of giftedness, neurodivergence, trauma, attachment, and creative therapy. I understand what it feels like to sit across from a teen who gives one-word answers, analyzes every feeling instead of experiencing it, or insists they don't need help because I have been there, and I have learned how to move from trying to break through their defenses to understanding what those defenses are protecting.
I also understand what it feels like to be a therapist who deeply cares and is trying everything. This training won't give you just another binder full of interventions. Your time spent with me will change the way you see the teen sitting in front of you.
You will know what to do no matter what behavior shows up when the teen walks through your door.
One therapist shared that before this training, she felt like she was constantly searching for the "right thing" to say with her gifted and neurodivergent teens. Within weeks of applying the framework, she felt more grounded, more confident sitting in silence, and better able to follow what the teen was communicating instead of fighting against their defenses.
...It's one month from now. You've just wrapped up a session with a bright, skeptical teen who a month ago would have left you questioning everything. Instead of replaying the conversation in your head on the drive home, you close your notes feeling clear about what happened, what the teen was communicating, and where you will go next.
Your work
You spend less time searching for the perfect intervention and more time building the kind of therapeutic relationships that create lasting change.
Your finances
You are able to confidently accept more of the referrals that other therapists avoid and feel great about your price because of the results you see.
Your life
You stop carrying every session home with you. Your evenings belong to you again instead of being spent wondering, "Did I do enough?"
Your confidence
You trust your ability to understand the person in front of you, even when you don't have a script.
It's that you change.
"I finally stopped feeling like I had to prove myself in the room. I can slow down and actually trust the relationship."
"I realized I wasn't failing these clients. I was trying to use a map that wasn't designed for where they were."
Both started exactly where you are now:
caring deeply, working hard, and quietly wondering if they were missing something.
Stop performing therapy...
...and start becoming the therapist these teens have been waiting for.

INSIDE THE COURSE
This course will teach you everything you need to know to become the therapist you want to be.
With some simple lessons and demonstrations from someone who has been in your shoes, you can create an approach that feels effortless and build a life that feels satisfying.
Walk away with a new way to understand and approach both parents and teens when facing overwhelm, shutdowns, perfectionism, intellectualizing, and "I don't know."
Worksheets, assessments, treatment planning tools, and creative activities you can immediately use with clients.
Access the training whenever you need a refresher and revisit the course as your confidence grows.
"I don't know enough about giftedness, ADHD, autism, trauma, or all of these complex presentations. Maybe I should wait until I have more experience before working with these teens."
But that is exactly why I created this training.
One therapist came into this training worried, "I'm not sure I'm experienced enough to work with gifted and neurodivergent teens. They seem so much smarter than me."
What she found instead was that these teens were not looking for someone who could out-intellectualize them. They were looking for someone who could understand them. She learned how to sit with silence, follow curiosity, and trust that the relationship itself was part of the treatment.
Myth: The best therapists always know exactly what to say and have the perfect intervention ready.
The truth: The best therapists know how to observe, regulate themselves, build trust, and understand what the client is communicating underneath their behavior. The intervention comes from the relationship and assessment… not the other way around.
worksheets, scripts, and interventions to use without understanding why they work. (You will walk away with tons of guides, AND know how and why they work AND how you have the freedom to make them yours.)
to make teens comply, perform better, or become easier for adults to manage.
slow down, examine your own expectations, and allow the therapeutic relationship to become the place where change happens.

I don't want this to be another course sitting in your inbox collecting dust. There is as little fluff as possible and each module builds on the next. I created it to fundamentally change the way you see the teens sitting across from you.
Q: How long do I have access?
A: You will have access to the course for 365 days from your purchase date. That gives you plenty of time to move through the material at your own pace and come back to the lessons whenever you need a refresher before a difficult session, a new referral, or a specific clinical challenge.
Q: Is this self-paced or live?
A: This is a self-paced online training designed to fit into your busy schedule. The training is broken into four manageable modules, each approximately one hour long. The modules are released all at once. Once you have them, you can complete the modules whenever works best for you. You can immediately begin applying the concepts in your sessions.
Q: I'm really busy. How much time does this actually take?
A: I designed this training to be concise and practical. This course distills more than a decade of experience into 100 focused minutes you can immediately apply in your own practice. Including time for reviewing the downloads, notes and videos the core training is just 4 hours total, broken into four one-hour modules. You can watch one module at a time, implement what you learn in your sessions that week, and come back for a refresher anytime during your 365 days of access.
Q: I'm just starting out / I've been doing this for years / I work with a different population. Is this still a good fit?
A: Yes. This training was created especially with newer therapists in mind! The clinicians who are sitting across from a bright, intense teen thinking, "I care so much, but I have no idea what to do next." But experienced therapists often tell me that this framework changes the way they understand resistance, perfectionism, shutdown, and emotional intensity. If you work with children, teens, or young adults who are sensitive, gifted, neurodivergent, anxious, perfectionistic, or difficult to engage, you will walk away with a completely refreshed lens for your work.
Q: Is it ethical and appropriate to use these approaches if I am not trained in every diagnosis or modality mentioned?
A: Absolutely. This course does not teach you to practice outside your scope or replace diagnosis-specific training when needed. Instead, it gives you a relationship-based framework for understanding the person sitting in front of you… how to assess their adaptations, build safety, strengthen flexibility, and create meaningful therapeutic experiences within your existing scope of practice.
Q: I've purchased courses before that just gave me more worksheets and information, and I still didn't feel more confident. Why would this be different?
A: Because this is not another folder of interventions that leaves you wondering, "Okay, but what do I actually do when my client shuts down?"
This training changes the way you see the teen in front of you. You will learn how to understand what is underneath avoidance, intellectualizing, perfectionism, emotional outbursts, and resistance so you can make intentional clinical decisions… not just reach for another technique.
You don't need more things to do. You need a different way of understanding.
You can understand your clients at a deeper level.
You're still reading because some part of you knows there has to be a better way than spending hours searching for the perfect intervention and walking out of sessions wondering if you did enough.
Staying where you are means continuing to second-guess yourself, avoiding the referrals that intimidate you, and carrying the weight of your sessions home with you. Making this decision means learning to trust yourself, understanding what your clients are actually communicating, and becoming the therapist that these teens and their families have been praying for.
If you're ready to stop performing therapy and start understanding your clients at a deeper level, click the button below. That's the only thing standing between you and the confidence, clarity, and clinical framework you've been searching for.
Start becoming the therapist our community needs you to be.
Enrollment is open now at the founding member price of $699 or 4 payments of $179. This pricing will increase in the future as the course grows and additional trainings and resources are added.
